Position Title: Zonal Branch Head

Workplace: Bahirdar, Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) Amhara Regional Branch is seeking to hire a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Zonal Branch Head. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and coordinating all activities of the zonal branch, ensuring effective implementation of humanitarian services, capacity building, and community-based programs in alignment with the Society’s mission and strategic goals.

Job Specification:

• Educational Qualification: Second or First Degree in Management, Public Administration, Disaster Risk Management, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Social Psychology, Social Anthropology, Regional & Local Development Studies, or Governance & Development Studies.

• Work Experience: 8 years (for Second Degree holders) or 10 years (for First Degree holders) of relevant work experience, out of which 4/6 years must be in a managerial position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the zonal branch operations, programs, and staff.

• Develop and implement strategic and operational plans.

• Coordinate with stakeholders, government agencies, and partner organizations.

• Manage disaster response, health programs, and community services.

• Monitor performance, prepare reports, and ensure program effectiveness.

• Ensure compliance with ERCS policies and humanitarian principles.
