Job Purpose
The Druggist will be responsible for dispensing prescribed medications, providing basic pharmaceutical guidance, and ensuring the proper management of medical supplies. The role is crucial in supporting healthcare services within the center by maintaining safe and efficient pharmaceutical operations.
Duties and Responsibilities

Dispense medications according to prescriptions from authorized medical personnel

Ensure proper labeling and usage instructions are provided to patients

Manage the inventory of drugs and medical supplies

Maintain records of dispensed medications and monitor stock levels

Store pharmaceuticals in accordance with safety and health regulations

Provide basic information to clients about drug interactions and proper medication use

Monitor expiry dates and ensure timely disposal of outdated items
-
Assist in ordering pharmaceutical supplies as needed
-
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care

Participate in audits, training, and awareness programs related to medication safety
Knowledge and Experience

Education: Diploma in Clinical Druggist

Experience: No prior experience required; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
Key Skills

Good knowledge of pharmacology and basic drug interactions

Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills

Clear communication and ability to explain medication use to non-medical individuals

High level of integrity and responsibility in handling medications

Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team

Familiarity with standard pharmaceutical equipment and inventory systems

Proficiency in Amharic; knowledge of English is an advantage
