BGI Ethiopia, a leading name in the Ethiopian beverage industry, is seeking a qualified Electrician to join its dynamic engineering team in Addis Ababa.

📋 Job Details

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical equipment malfunctions and perform timely repairs or adjustments.

• Conduct inspections, predictive audits, and tests on electrical systems, preparing detailed technical reports.

• Test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect electrical equipment and monitoring devices in the factory and office.

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC controls, AC inverters, and other control systems across all BGI factories.

• Provide immediate response to emergency repairs and ensure predictive maintenance schedules are implemented.

• Study and test new machines or equipment, preparing assessment reports and developing SOPs.

• Design and develop new tools or devices to solve long-term electrical issues.

• Install and maintain electrical systems, instrumentation, and control wiring in CAD and E-Plan.

• Dismantle defective parts and repair motors, pumps, pneumatic and conveyor systems following engineering specifications.

• Organize maintenance records in the CMMS system and maintain accurate machine history documentation.

• Support preventive maintenance, shutdown activities, and cross-functional improvement projects.

• Diagnose and repair electrical or electronic systems and overhaul machinery components.

• Maintain 5S organization and workshop cleanliness as per company standards.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

🎓 Required Qualifications and Skills

• Education: BSc in Electrical Engineering or related field of study

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

• Preferred Background: Experience in FMCG or beverage manufacturing

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of wiring diagrams and electrical schematics

  • Skilled in troubleshooting and rectifying electrical malfunctions

  • Familiar with PLCs, AC drives, and control systems

• Soft Skills:

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

  • Intermediate English proficiency (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
