The Addis Ababa City Administration Women’s and Children’s Social Affairs Bureau is seeking a motivated and responsible individual to join its team in the role of Catering Staff. Job Purpose
The Catering Staff member is responsible for preparing and serving meals, ensuring proper hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, and supporting daily food service operations at the center. The role contributes significantly to the health and well-being of women and children receiving services at the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to the daily menu and dietary guidelines

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food service areas
-
Wash and properly store utensils, equipment, and ingredients
-
Assist in planning weekly meal schedules in collaboration with nutritionists or supervisors
-
Follow food safety standards and ensure meals are served in a timely and orderly manner
-
Monitor inventory and report supply needs to the appropriate personnel

Support the serving of meals to residents, staff, and guests as required

Handle kitchen waste responsibly and participate in cleaning routines

Assist in special events or celebrations by helping with food-related tasks

Adhere to workplace rules and contribute to a cooperative team environment
Knowledge and Experience
-
Education: Completion of 8th grade and formal training in catering or food preparation
-
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a catering, kitchen, or institutional food service setting
Key Skills

Basic cooking and food preparation skills

Knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and sanitation practices

Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently

Team-oriented, reliable, and attentive to detail

Good communication skills in Amharic

Physical stamina for kitchen tasks including lifting and standing for long periods

A respectful and courteous attitude toward coworkers and beneficiaries
