The Tutor/Care Worker III is responsible for providing care, educational support, and guidance to children under the protection of the center. The role demands patience, dedication, and a nurturing spirit to foster the emotional, educational, and social development of children in a structured care setting.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day care for children residing at the center

Support children’s learning and personal development through structured activities
-
Assist with homework, basic educational lessons, and life skills training
-
Monitor and report on children’s behavior, health, and emotional well-being
-
Ensure a safe, hygienic, and supportive environment at all times
-
Build trust and positive relationships with children and staff
-
Participate in recreational and educational outings and events
-
Collaborate with social workers, educators, and healthcare providers to support each child’s individual needs
-
Maintain accurate daily logs and reports on children’s progress
-
Help instill discipline, values, and social responsibility in the children
Knowledge and Experience
-
Education: Completion of 12th grade or a certificate of 10th grade education
-
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working with children in care, educational, or social service settings
Key Skills

Strong interpersonal and caregiving abilities
-
Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children

Basic teaching and tutoring skills

Ability to manage group activities and ensure children’s safety
-
Good verbal communication in Amharic; English language ability is a plus

Basic record-keeping and organizational skills

Understanding of child protection principles and care ethics
