Position: Child Protection Officer (Emergency Project)

Plan International Ethiopia is seeking a passionate and committed Child Protection Officer to support the implementation of its emergency response project in targeted woredas. The ideal candidate will ensure the project is executed in alignment with Plan International’s Child Protection in Emergency (CPiE) Policy and international minimum standards.
You will work closely with district and kebele-level stakeholders to ensure children are protected in vulnerable settings. This includes integrating safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusion principles in every stage of project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate child protection activities and ensure alignment with CPiE standards
• Collaborate with government bodies and community-level actors for effective service delivery
• Monitor project progress and report child protection issues as per safeguarding procedures
• Embed Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI (Gender Equality and Inclusion) policies into all project activities
• Provide training to field teams on safeguarding, GEI, and child protection policies
• Contribute to reporting and data submissions for global Plan International initiativesQualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Law, Political Science & International Relations, Community Development, Disaster Risk Management, or a related social science field.Experience:
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in child protection
• Preferably experienced in humanitarian/emergency contexts (e.g., displacement, conflict, natural disasters)
• Technical knowledge of child protection policies, international conventions, and data managementRequired Skills:
